Dr. Josuke Tanaka

Dr. Josuke Tanaka was born and raised in Switzerland. He is a former Swiss national champion in judo and holds a black belt in judo and brazilian jiu-jitsu. After spending the first part of his life traveling around the world to train and compete, he had to retire due a nerve injury. Upon his long path of recovery, he discovered chiropractic shortly after he obtained his master degree in biomechanical engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology.

He decided to move to California to study chiropractic and pursue his passion of helping people to improve their health. Not fully satisfied with the regular chiropractic curriculum, Dr. Tanaka enrolled to the Carrick Institute of Clinical Neuroscience and Rehabilitation in order to have a better understanding of how the human body and nervous system work. After completing hundreds of hours of training in traumatic brain injury, brain neurochemistry, neurobehavioral and neurodegenerative disorders, Dr. Tanaka obtained his diplomate in chiropractic neurology. He was also fortunate enough to work with medical doctors, naturopaths and chiropractic neurologists at the world renowned Azzolino Integrative Clinic in San Francisco.

Dr. Tanaka is a lifelong learner, who constantly looks to acquire new knowledge in order to provide the best care possible to his patients. When he is not reading books or taking a class, Dr. Tanaka enjoys teaching and practicing martial arts, surfing and cooking.
